Meeting Announcement: Atchison, Kansas - June 4-5, 2003

100th Meridian Initiative Team Meeting
Wednesday Afternoon, June 4th and the Morning of June 5th, 2003
Heritage Conference Room, Ferrell Hall, Benedictine College

A 100th Meridian Team meeting is being held in conjunction with the Missouri River Conference. Team members from Federal, Tribal and State agencies, local communities and stakeholders will discuss and prioritize actions to prevent the westward spread of zebra mussels and other aquatic invasive species. Conference attendees are invited to participate in this open forum meeting to protect western waters. The 100th Meridian Team will meet the afternoon, Wednesday, June 4th and the morning of June 5th in the Heritage Conference Room in Ferrell Hall at Benedictine College.

The discussion Thursday morning will focus on threats to western waters and the Missouri River by the Lewis & Clark celebration. Boats and equipment could easily transport zebra mussels upriver unless education and prevention measures are established.

There is a list of hotels on the Missouri River Conference information site. People can sign up for the conference but they don't have to in order to attend the 100th Meridian meeting.

The Agenda for this meeting is now available.
